Open Access Policy

Agrifood Research and Enterprise (Agrifood Res. Enterp.) provides immediate, unrestricted open access to all of its published content, at no cost to readers. This policy follows the definition of open access set out by the Budapest Open Access Initiative (BOAI) — free availability on the public internet, with the right to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, link, and text- and data-mine the full text of every article, without financial, legal, or technical barriers other than internet access itself.

License: CC BY 4.0

All articles are published under the Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 International License (CC BY 4.0).

  • Readers may read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, and link to the full text of every article, free of charge.
  • Users may share, adapt, remix, and build upon the material for any purpose, including commercial use, provided appropriate credit is given to the original authors and source, a link to the license is provided, and any changes made are indicated.
  • No permission is required from the authors or publisher to reuse content under these terms.

CC BY 4.0 is the license most widely recognized by the open access community as meeting the full BOAI definition, and is the license associated with the DOAJ/SPARC Open Access Seal. Publishing under CC BY 4.0 is intended to maximize the visibility, reuse, and citation potential of research published in ARE, and to align the journal's practices with the standards expected by major indexing databases.

Copyright

Authors retain copyright of their published work. By submitting to ARE, authors grant the journal the right of first publication, with the work simultaneously licensed under CC BY 4.0 as described above.

Article Processing Charge (APC) — placeholder

[State clearly whether ARE currently charges no APC, a waived introductory APC, or a fixed APC amount — e.g. "ARE does not currently charge an Article Processing Charge (APC) to authors" or "ARE charges an APC of [amount], with waivers available upon request." Payment, where applicable, must never be presented as a guarantee of acceptance.]
