Archive Policy

Agrifood Research and Enterprise (Agrifood Res. Enterp.) is committed to the long-term preservation, discoverability, and continued accessibility of its published content, independent of the journal's or publisher's continued operation.

1

Persistent Identifiers (DOI)

Every article published in ARE is registered with Crossref and assigned a persistent Digital Object Identifier (DOI), ensuring the article remains permanently locatable even if its web address changes.

2

PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN)

The journal participates in the PKP Preservation Network, a LOCKSS-based archiving network built for journals using the Open Journal Systems platform. PKP PN automatically harvests and preserves the journal's content across a distributed network of libraries.

3

LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe)

The journal allows the LOCKSS system to collect, preserve, and serve its content through participating libraries. LOCKSS enables libraries to permanently archive the journal and restore access to its content if necessary.

4

CLOCKSS (Controlled LOCKSS)

The journal's content is also preserved through CLOCKSS, a decentralized, geographically distributed archive built by the world's leading academic publishers and research libraries, ensuring continued public access to the journal's content in the event the journal or publisher is unable to continue operations.

Internal Backup

In addition to the external preservation networks above, the publisher performs routine backups of the journal's database and files, hosted on stable infrastructure, as a further safeguard for continued accessibility.
